64GB Memory Chip for Mobile

Smartphone on the market is dominated by storage capacity of 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. While the larger size, such as the 64GB is still rare.

To add capacity, users typically use additional memory card. Some smartphones already support it too, usually a device can be equipped with a memory card, such as microSD, up to 64GB capacity.

Trying to accommodate the needs of a smartphone with a capacity of 64GB, Samsung has recently introduced a chip called "64GB embedded multimedia card (eMMC) Pro Class 2000".

This chip has a size 20 percent smaller and three times faster than existing technology.

Memory chip cards, as quoted by PC World, Monday (19/11/2012), has the ability to read as fast as 260 megabytes per second and write as fast as 50 megabytes per second, 10 times faster than Class-10 memory card.

In addition to smartphones, the chip will also arm the tablet device.

Samsung said the chip card is already being produced late last month. Korean company revealed, eMMC Pro Class 2000 is manufactured with 10 nanometer fabrication process.

With the smaller fabrication process, the chip card is suitable for use in devices with thin design. In addition, eMMC Pro Class 2000 promises less power consumption.
OK, let's wait and see how powerful presence of this new chip.
